Do I need one? No! I thought I read somewhere they had P-90 pickups in them. I don't know, to me they are very sweet to look at but then I love classic cars. It seems why they weren't played on stage is because of The collectible value of them. Produced exclusively in Nashville Tennessee, the rare 63' Sting Ray sold for $7,500.00 in 1994. So the white sting ray 63 split window was commissioned to have 150 made, but only 40 were built. I found the same sight and learned a bit more too. You would think someone famous would want to stand on stage showing it off. I've never seen anyone onstage with one either. It is interesting that nobody seems to have played one live. This non-name player owned one sold for nearly £4,500 in 2015 Here's some pictures of his black and red one from the magazine if you scroll down. It went for just over £14,000, but that's more to do with the name player, so yes they seem like they weren't that expensive when originally released. I did some more research on Slash's and found he had sold one at auction a few years back. If that's true, they must of sold cheaper then that price since their classics. I did find the original black and white Tuxedo Corvette for sale on eBay for $5,500.00 and that one is pictured above and they claim it's mint condition & unplayed. Well, I kept looking for a sight that told how much they sold for when first released and couldn't find anything.
